About Us

The Hanky Chief was created by its founder, Matt Sewell early in 2014 in the East of England.

Matt has always had a love of fashion and liked to stand out in the crowd. Matt found that when he started looking to buy pocket squares for himself, they were either ridiculously expensive or there was a distinct lack of creativity or options other than the usual plain white, navy or the occasional burgundy!

Another problem was that due to the lack of options you would often see someone wearing the same pocket square as yourself *oh the shame!*.

Matt then had the idea of creating a brand which provides not only high quality hand made pocket squares and handkerchiefs in a number of different colours and styles to suit any occasion but also to make them affordable and accessible to the everyday modern gent.

What we hope to bring you is a range of styles, patterns and colours which will compliment any look and are sure to turn heads and get people talking!

Pocket Squares and Handkerchiefs are just the beginning, we are keen to expand on to other products for the modern gentleman.

We are also keen to give something back to our local community and make sure that none of our fabric goes to waste. Therefore any cut offs or spare fabric left from making our pocket squares are made into blankets and quilts by our manufacturer, which we then donate to local children's hospitals in Norfolk.
